DropShip Importer
privacy policy
Introduction
DropShip Importer (“the App”) is provided by InfoShore Apps (“InfoShore”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
The App helps Shopify merchants import products from a range of popular marketplaces — such as AliExpress, Overstock, Walmart, and others — into their Shopify store, typically by supplying a product URL. It is a one-way importer built for dropshipping: it brings product information into Shopify, and does not publish Shopify products back to those marketplaces or process their orders.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify store. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
For the store data described here, you are the data controller and InfoShore is the data processor. We access and process this data on your instructions, solely to provide the App's functionality — not for our own purposes.
Information we collect
To provide the functionality of the App, we access and process certain information from your Shopify store and from the marketplace product pages you choose to import. The App only accesses information necessary to provide the features it offers, as described on its Shopify App Store listing, which is the authoritative description of what the App can reach.
Information from Shopify
Based on the permissions you grant when installing the App, we access store information, product data, product variants, inventory, and pricing — so that imported products can be created in Shopify and kept up to date.
Information from marketplaces you import from
When you import a product, the App accesses the publicly available product information on the page you supply — typically the title, description, images, variants, and price. The App works from the product URLs and marketplace pages you choose; it does not sign in to a marketplace seller account on your behalf, and it does not access marketplace order or buyer data.
Information collected automatically
We may collect technical information such as IP address, browser information, device information, application logs, error reports, and usage analytics. This information helps us maintain, improve, and secure the App.
How we use information
We use collected information to connect your Shopify store to the App; import products from supported marketplaces into Shopify; keep imported product information updated; provide customer support; monitor performance and reliability; improve App functionality; and detect and prevent misuse or fraud.
We do not use merchant data for advertising purposes, and we do not use your data to train machine-learning models.
Imported products and merchant responsibility
You are responsible for the products you import and sell through your store, including ensuring you have the right to list and sell them, that product information is accurate, and that your use complies with the terms of the marketplaces you import from and with applicable laws. The App provides the import tooling; decisions about what to import and sell remain yours.
Data storage and retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the App's functionality, maintain import processes, provide customer support, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Data after App uninstall
When you uninstall the App, we stop accessing your Shopify store, and import activities cease. Shopify
sends us a shop/redact request after uninstall, and merchant data associated with the App
may be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period following that request, unless retention is
required for legal, security, accounting, or legitimate business purposes.
Shopify also sends customers/redact and customers/data_request webhooks; we
act on these as required. If you wish to request immediate deletion of your data, please contact us using
the information provided below.
Data sharing
We do not sell merchant or customer data. Information may be shared only with service providers that help operate the App, with hosting and cloud infrastructure providers, when required by law, to protect our legal rights or security, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets.
Any third-party service providers are required to handle information appropriately and securely.
Data security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect merchant information. These measures may include encrypted data transmission, secure authentication mechanisms, access controls, infrastructure monitoring, and security best practices.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
International data transfers
Because our infrastructure and service providers may operate in multiple countries, information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence. We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information remains protected and handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
GDPR and privacy rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with applicable privacy laws, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion of information, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability where applicable.
Requests regarding personal information may be submitted using the contact information below.
Controller and processor responsibilities
As the merchant, you are the data controller: you remain responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable privacy laws and for maintaining appropriate privacy notices for your customers. InfoShore acts only as a data processor in connection with data processed through the App, handling it on your instructions.
Third-party services
The App integrates with Shopify and imports from third-party marketplaces including AliExpress, Overstock, Walmart, and others. Your use of those marketplaces remains subject to their respective terms, policies, and privacy practices. All marketplace names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners; InfoShore is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by any of them.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in legal requirements, technology, or App functionality. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
